Imŏla [2]

Imŏla, Innocenzo da, eigentlich Francucci, ital. Maler, geb. um 1494 in Imola, gest. um 1550 in Bologna, kam 1508 zu Francia nach Bologna in die Lehre, hielt sich später einige Zeit bei Albertinelli in Florenz auf und ahmte zuletzt Raffael nach. Er lebte zumeist in Bologna, wo sich auch seine Hauptwerke befinden. Seine bedeutendsten Bilder sind: die Vermählung der heil. Katharina, von 1536, in San Giacomo Maggiore, die Fresken in San Michele zu Bosco, eine Madonna in der Glorie mit Heiligen (1517, Pinakothek) und Christus am Kreuz mit Heiligen (1549) in San Salvatore zu Bologna. Tafelbilder von ihm befinden sich in den Galerien zu Berlin, München und St. Petersburg.
