Heraud (spr. hérro), John A., engl. Dichter und Kritiker, geb. 1799 in London, gest. 20. April 1887, begann als Autodidakt 1818 für Zeitschriften zu arbeiten, so für die »Quarterly Review«, und wurde später Mitredakteur von »Fraser's Magazine«. Er veröffentlichte Gedichte, Romane und Trauerspiele (»Videna«, 1854 ausgeführt, u. a). Von 1849–79 schrieb er die Theaterberichte für die »Illustrated London News«, auch bis 1868 für das »Athenaeum«.
