Gaucelm Faidit

Gaucelm Faidit, Troubadour, geb. zu Uzerche im Limousin, blühte etwa von 1130–1216, trieb sich mit seiner Frau, einem Spielweib, als Spielmann lange in der Welt herum und reiste 1202 in das Heilige Land. Seine Gönner waren Richard Löwenherz, dessen Tod er in rührenden Worten beklagt, Bonifaz II. von Montserrat und Raimund von Agout. Man hat von ihm mehr als 60 Gesänge; eine Anzahl findet sich in Raynouards Sammlung. Vgl. Diez, Leben und Werke der Troubadours (2. Aufl., Leipz. 1883); R. Meyer, Leben des Trobadors G. F.
