Farināto

Farināto, Paolo, ital. Maler, geb. 1524 in Verona, gest. daselbst 1606, lernte bei Giolfino, bildete sich aber mehr nach Paolo Veronese und Giulio Romano. Reiche Erfindungsgabe, kühne, wenn auch nicht korrekte Zeichnung und ein harmonisches und mannigfaltiges Kolorit zeichnen ihn aus. Im Chor von San Nazaro zu Verona befinden sich umfangreiche Fresken von ihm, in San Giovanni in Fonke daselbst die Taufe Christi, in San Giorgio Maggiore die wunderbare Speisung (1603), im Berliner Museum die Darstellung Christi im Tempel.
