Eigg (spr. egg), Basaltinsel an der Westküste von Schottland, eine der innern Hebriden, zur Grafschaft Inverneß gehörig, bedeckt 29,5 qkm mit (1891) 233 Bewohnern. Sie steigt in dem aus prächtigen Basaltsäulen gebildeten Scuir of E. 387 m hoch an. Hier beobachtete der Geolog Hugh Miller die Erscheinung des tönenden Sandes.
