Deosai (»Götterebene«), vegetationslose, von zahllosen Murmeltieren bewohnte, 3660–4000 m hohe Ebene an der Südgrenze von Baltistan in Kaschmir, rings umgeben von Hochgebirgen, deren Gletscherabflüsse sich zum Schigar vereinigen, der an der Südostseite zum Drâs abfließt. In das wellige, mit runden Granitblöcken besäte Tal (wahrscheinlich ein altes Seebecken) führen hohe Pässe (1200 m, 4757 m) zur großen Handelsstraße Skardo-Srinagar.
