County borough (spr. kauntĭ börro, »Stadtgrafschaft«), eine durch die Local Government Act von 1888 aus dem Grafschaftsverband ausgeschiedene Stadt in England, die in der Regel mehr als 50,000 Einw. zählt. Auch in Irland sind die sechs größten Städte neuerdings dazu erhoben.
