Coryphodon Owen, fossile Gattung der Amblypoden (s. Huftiere), den Dinoceraten am nächsten verwandt, umfaßt Arten von der Größe des Tapirs bis zu der eines Stieres, mit kurzen, plumpen Beinen und auffallend kleinem Gehirn. Sie finden sich zahlreich im nordamerikanischen Eocän, spärlich in Europa, und waren die größten Säugetiere der Eocänzeit.
