Clarke's Fork

Clarke's Fork, Nebenfluß des Columbia, entsteht aus dem Flathead und Bitter Root River. Ersterer entspringt auf britischem Gebiet unweit des Kutanaypasses, fließt durch den Flatheadsee (862 m) und vereinigt sich mit dem am Clarke's Paß entspringenden, beim Hellgate (Höllentor) ein Engtal durchfließenden Bitter Root. Der vereinigte Fluß durchfließt den Pend d'Oreille-See und mündet nach 1040 km langem, im allgemeinen nordwestlichem Lauf unter 48°50' nördl. Br. auf britischem Gebiet in den Columbia.
