Châtelaine (franz., spr. schat'lǟn'), Kastellanin; auch ein aus zahlreichen verzierten Metallgliedern zusammengesetzter Frauengürtel, der seit dem frühen Mittelalter bis zum Ende des 16. Jahrh. getragen wurde und neuerdings wieder in Aufnahme gekommen ist. Daran wurden Gebetbücher, Schlüssel, Fächer, Toilettengeräte u. dgl. befestigt.
