Cessatio a divinis (lat.), Einstellung des öffentlichen Gottesdienstes, eine dem Interdikt (s.d.) ähnliche Maßregel, angeordnet von den kirchlichen Obern zum Zeichen der Trauer über eine schwere, der Kirche zugefügte Unbill (z. B. durch Blutvergießen in der Kirche) und zugleich als Mittel, die Schuldigen zur Sühne zu vermögen.
