Cerāte (lat.), talgartige Salben in Form von Täfelchen. Ceratum Cetacei (weiße Lippenpomade) besteht aus 2 Teilen Wachs, 2 Teilen Walrat und 3 Teilen Mandelöl; Ceratum Cetacei rubrum (rote Lippenpomade) aus 60 Teilen weißem Wachs, 10 Teilen Walrat, 90Teilen rot gefärbtem Mandelöl, 1 Teil Bergamottöl und 1 Teil Zitronenöl; Ceratum Aeruginis (C. viride, grünes Wachs, Grünspancerat) aus 12 Teilen gelbem Wachs, 6 Teilen Fichtenharz, 4 Teilen Terpentin und 1 Teil feinstem Grünspanpulver, dient gegen Hühneraugen, und die Landleute benutzen es zum Färben ihrer Ernteembleme. C. Myristicae, soviel wie Muskatbalsam. Einfaches Cerat (Ceratsalbe), soviel wie Wachssalbe, s. Salben.
