Buckstone

Buckstone

Buckstone (spr. böckstōn), John Baldwin, engl. Schauspieler und Bühnendichter, geb. 8. Sept. 1802 in London, gest. daselbst 31. Von seinen sehr zahlreichen (über 150) Stücken gehörten die Lustspiele: »Popping the question« und »Mary Ann«, ferner »Uncle John«, »Married life«, »Good for nothing«, »A lesson for ladies« und besonders »The green bushes« zu den beliebtesten.
