Brya Beauv., Gattung der Leguminosen, kleine Bäume oder Sträucher mit unpaarig gefiederten Blättern, achsel- oder fast endständigen, wenigblütigen Blütenbüscheln und zweigliederiger, oft einsamiger Hülfe. Drei Arten auf den Antillen und in Nicaragua. B. Ebenus DC, (westindischer Ebenholzbaum), 6–12 m hoch, mit selten mehr als 10 cm starkem Stamm, langen, dünnen, dornigen Zweigen, kleinen, immergrünen Blättern und sehr zahlreichen gelben, wohlriechenden Blüten. Das Holz ist grünlichbraun gestreift, sehr hart und politurfähig und kommt als grünes, amerikanisches Ebenholz, westindisches Grenadillholz in den Handel.
