Boccaccino

Boccaccino (spr. -tschīno), Boccaccio, ital. Maler, geb. um 1460 in Cremona, gest. daselbst um 1518, war dort, in Rom und Venedig tätig, wo sich noch zwei in der Art der ältern Venezianer behandelte Altarbilder von ihm (die Verlobung der heil. Katharina in der Akademie und eine thronende Madonna in San Giuliano) befinden. Seine Hauptwerke sind die Fresken im Hauptschiff und im Chor des Domes von Cremona: neun Szenen aus dem Leben der Maria, die in der strengen Charakteristik der Figuren an die ferraresischen Meister erinnern, aber reicher in der Färbung sind.
