Bethome, befestigte Stadt in Samaria (Palästina), nördlich von Sichem, wohin im Empörungskriege gegen den Hasmonäerkönig Alexander Jannai (94–88 v. Chr.) viele vornehme Juden von der Pharisäerpartei flohen. Der König eroberte die Stadt und ließ 800 der Flüchtlinge in Jerusalem kreuzigen.
