Transkei (Transkai), Distrikt im östlichen Teil der britisch-südafrikan. Kapkolonie, am Indischen Ozean, zwischen Großem Keifluß und Bashee, 6609 qkm mit (1904) 177,730 Einw., darunter 1707 Weiße, die übrigen Fingo, Kaffern und Betschuanen. – Transkeian Territories (Native T.) ist jetzt auch Bezeichnung für das eigentliche Kaffraria (s. Kaffern).
