Bereg, ungar. Komitat, am rechten Theißufer, grenzt im N. an Galizien, im übrigen an die Komitate Ung, Szabolcs, Szatmár, Ugocsa und Máramaros, umfaßt 3724 qkm (67,7 QM.) mit (1901) 208,589 ruthenischen, magyarischen und deutschen Einwohnern (meist Griechisch-Katholische und Reformierte). Darin der große Sumpf Szernye zwischen Munkács u. Beregszász. Sitz des Komitats ist Beregszász (s. d.).
