Taanach (heute Ta'annek), altkanaanit. Königs-, später Levitenstadt am Südrande der Ebene von Jesreel, 1902 s. von Sellin ausgegraben, der dort eine spätisraelitische (etwa 500 v. Chr.), eine altisraelitische (etwa 950 v. Chr.) und eine kanaanitische Burg (etwa 1300 v. Chr.) aufdeckte und den ersten israelitischen Räucheraltar fand.
