Southport (spr. ßauth-), Stadt (municipal borough) und beliebtes Seebad in Lancashire (England), 20 km nördlich von Liverpool (das »englische Montpellier«), mit allen Annehmlichkeiten für Badegäste, als Wintergarten, Aquarium, Theater, Landungsbrücke (1 km lang), großer Markthalle, Konzertsaal, einer Freibibliothek mit Museum, Botanischem Garten, mehreren Parken, Heilanstalten und (1901) 48,083 Einw. S. ist erst 1792 angelegt. 3 km südwestlich Birkdale mit Wasserheilanstalt, einer kath. Besserungsanstalt und 14,197 Einw.
