Rikâb

Rikâb (Rikjâb, arab., »Steigbügel«) heißt in der türkischen Kanzleisprache die feierliche Audienz beim Sultan, etwa »Hofkur«. Rikâb-i-Humâjûn (der »kaiserliche Steigbügel«), soviel wie die Person des Sultans. Rikâb-dâr (»Steigbügelhalter«), Bezeichnung der Palastoffiziere, die neben dem reitenden Herrscher einhergehen.
