Back [3]

Back (spr. bäck), Sir George, brit. Seefahrer, geb. 6. Nov. 1796 in Stockport, gest. 23. Er veröffentlichte: »Narrative of the arctic land expedition to the mouth of the Great Fish- or Back River, and along the shores of the Arctic Ocean, in the years 1833, 1834 and 1835« (Lond. 1836; deutsch von Andree, Leipz. 1836) und »Narrative of the expedition in H. M. ship Terror« (Lond. 1838).
