Penicuik (spr. pénnĭ-kwick), Stadt in Edinburghshire (Schottland), am North Esk, mit Papierfabriken (Valleyfield Mills und Esk Mills), Sägemühlen, einer Eisengießerei, Basalt- und Eisengruben und (1901) 2803 Einw. In der Nähe der Landsitz P. House mit Gemäldegalerie. Dabei ein Obelisk zu Ehren des Dichters Ramsay (s. d.).
