Orexīn, gerbsaures Phenyldihydrochinazolin, ein gelblichweißes, geruch- und fast geschmackloses Pulver, das in Wasser unlöslich ist, in verdünnten Säuren (Magensaft) aber sich löst. Man benutzt es gegen Appetitlosigkeit der Kinder, bei hartnäckigem Erbrechen Schwangerer und gegen das Erbrechen nach Chloroformnarkose.
