Galashiels (spr. -schīls), Stadt in Selkirkshire (Schottland), an der Mündung der Gala in den Tweed, hat eine Kornbörse, eine Freibibliothek, ein Armenhaus, wichtige Wollmanufakturen (namentlich für Tartans und Tweeds) und (1901) 13,598 Einw. In der Nähe Abbotsford (s.d.).
