Sheppey (spr. scheppi), Insel in der engl. Grafschaft Kent, vor der Mündung des Medway in den Themsebusen und durch den Swale genannten Meeresarm vom Festland getrennt, 90,9 qkm groß mit (1901) 22,275 Einw. und der Stadt Sheerneß (s. d.). Vgl. Daly, The history of the isle of S. (Lond. 1905).
