Makana (Maquahuitl, Schneidekeule), Keule aus Holz mit oder ohne Spitze, die durch eingesetzte scharfe Steinsplitter zwei einander gegenüberstehende Schneiden erhalten hat, durchschnittlich 1 m lang. Sie wurde bei den Malaien, den Azteken von Anahuak und andern Völkern gefunden (s. Abbildung).
